This video was made in response to a request from a contractor in CA on how to replace a damaged VM Zinc panel, but the tools and techniques used in the video apply to all common metal roof materials (zinc, copper, aluminum, galvalume, steel, etc).

There are three basic steps to panel replacement. Remove the damaged panel, prep the area for the replacement panel and install the new panel. I use a specific set of tools and techniques to accomplish these steps (see tool list below).

If you take your time, do the proper preparation and take the recommended precautions, I think you will find the steps in this video will put you in a position to do a clean, professional double lock standing seam panel replacement. As with all roof repairs, please take the necessary precautions to protect yourself and the roof you are working on.
